New year marks an ending and a beginning.
In a couple of weeks we will finally see the conclusion of Lilly's story as Bad Blood draws to a close. She's been a favourite character for over a year. We had a short break while Glimmer took the stage, but I had to bring her back.
It resulted in what are effectively two sequels; Echoes, which conveniently broke down into chapters (and therefore movies within the main story), and Bad Blood, which did not.
Echoes further develops Lilly's story and I could easily have ended her story there. In some ways, it did end there as she finally found a home and her place in the world. Bad Blood, though, was irresistible to do as Lilly really does not like vampires.
But Lilly does not have much character development in Bad Blood; the character arcs really belong to Serana and Isran, The story circles round, as you'll see when the final episodes come out, to where it began. It's a fun story, however, and we further see who Lilly has become, but there isn't much more I can do with her.
I also needed to change my mod list. I admit happily that I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to modding, and attempts at improving the mod list (which is no longer available) only really resulted in causing more issues. I knew that Lilly's save file would probably not work with a new one, and it doesn't, but although it's sad to finally say goodbye, it does mean I am not tempted to wheel her out again and again. Know when to stop. And it's time to stop.
I have ideas for a new character - a name, a back story, and a motivation to be in Skyrim - and I just need to think a little bit more about her personality before I drop her into Skyrim. I'll start recording her adventures soon, and I'll tell you all about her then.
It's sad (and difficult) to let Lilly go, but 2025 will be someone else's chance to shine and maybe we will get to love her just as much as we came to love Lilly.
